St Vincent’s Nursing Home is a state of the art care home for retired religious and laity. The home was designed by RHA architects and it has 60 rooms, all with ensuite bathrooms.

Typical accommodation for residents

Each room has an excellent view, and all residents have access to beautiful gardens. There are communal lounges and dining rooms in each wing which are also available for visitors and family to share a cup of tea or coffee at any time.

St Vincent’s is planning to start work on building an ‘orangery’ for the residents and visitors.

Some of our residents live permanently in St Vincent’s and others stay for short periods when they are unwell or convalescing following treatment or surgery in local hospitals. We provide palliative care for all residents nearing the end of their lives and it is our aim that all residents will stay until their death if it is their wish to do so. Families are welcome to visit at any time and accommodation is available for close relatives visiting residents who are seriously ill.

A wide range of social activities are provided for residents who wish to take part. We aim to support all residents living in St Vincent’s and allow them to live their lives to the full.

On-site GP services are available for all residents and the Matron has an excellent team of nurses, therapists and carers who provide care and treatment for residents living in the home.

St Vincent’s Nursing Home has a thriving activity and social programme, covering daytimes, evenings and weekends. Events are planned by the activity co-ordinator who is supported by a small activity team, ward staff and a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers.

We enjoy fabulous visiting entertainers from the travelling opera and theatre companies, classical recitals, magic shows, visits from other organisations – even the Pearly King and Queen have made an appearance!
