Garden

St Vincent’s is a purpose-built modern nursing home situated in an idyllic woodland setting on the brow of Haste Hill, adjacent to the historic Ruislip woodlands in Eastcote/Northwood, Middlesex.

The home is situated on the site formerly occupied for almost 100 years by the renowned St Vincent’s Orthopaedic Hospital which has now been demolished.

The new nursing home opened in June 2006 and meets all the current Nursing Home Care Standards providing, in addition to the personal amenities, assisted bathrooms and showers together with small dining rooms and lounges within the four wings.

The long Roman Catholic tradition of St Vincent’s, Eastcote (which started in 1907) ensures that pastoral care is a significant part in the life of the home. It was always intended that the make up of the residents includes a significant number of retired priests, members of religious orders and laity. However, it is the policy of the Board of Directors to welcome as residents members of all faiths.

chapel

There is an integral chapel which can accommodate about 80 people (including space for wheelchairs). Mass is celebrated daily by our own chaplain, and for those unable to visit the chapel there is the opportunity to participate in the services by way of a closed-circuit television link to each room.

All meals are freshly prepared in our own modern kitchen, providing a choice of menus which cater for all tastes and needs, particularly those requiring special diets. We welcome visitors to our residents and they are able to order meals and dine with their friends and family. Click here for a sample menu.

Every opportunity is taken to create the homely atmosphere that our residents have been used to, including access to the surrounding landscaped gardens with wheelchair-friendly paths and raised flower beds. Residents who are able to do so are welcomed to take an active part in the gardening at the home.

On-site facilities include small lounges and reading areas, and outside professionals who can offer additional services to our residents: chiropody, physiotherapy and hairdressing requirements for example. A programme of activities throughout the week is also offered.

St Vincent’s is a registered charity (number 1014889) that exists to serve the health care of the disadvantaged, seen in the context of the whole person ministry to body, mind and spirit.
The charity is run by a Board of Directors who act as trustees for its charitable affairs. The directors receive no monetary gain from the charity but freely give their time to progress the aims of care that have been a part of St Vincent’s for so many years. Being a charity, all monies earned are retained in the organisation and are ultimately used for the benefit of the residents and to further the charitable aims.
